Ralph Vaughan Williams - Concerto for tuba and orchestra

Full-length tutorial. 80 minutes of video. Preparing for a concert or an audition? Avoid the most common pitfalls and problems.

I have been playing this masterpiece of a concerto for over almost 40 years, on countless concerts with orchestras from Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in the south to Warsaw Philharmonic in the north. My CD recording with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra was awarded the Roger Bobo prize for excellence in recording by ITEA (International Tuba and Euphonium Association). I have also had the pleasure of coaching hundreds of students in masterclasses on how to play this piece. In this comprehensive 80 minute video tutorial I go through the music in detail. The musical possibilities, the solutions to technical challenges, as well as how to avoid the most common mistakes that students make. Many of the tips are also applicable on other solo music. This is information that would take more than four private lessons to pass on. Here you get all of the information I have about the music. You get lifetime access and you can review it in your own tempo. You can pause and rewind as many times as you like - on any device.
